The XRP6272 is a low dropout voltage regulator capable of a constant output current up to 2 Amps. A wide 1.8V to 6V input voltage range allows for single supply operations from industry standard 1.8V, 2.8V, 3.3V and 5V power rails as well as the 5.8V rail.

With better than ±2% output voltage accuracy, low output noise and high Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR), the XRP6272 is perfectly suited for powering RF circuits. Optimized for use with small, low cost ESR ceramic output capacitors and featuring a low 30μA quiescent current, this device is also adequate for use in battery powered portable equipment. The XRP6272 operates by default as a 5V fixed output voltage regulator while usage of an external resistor voltage divider allows adjustable output voltages as low as 0.7V. An enable function, power good flag and output noise reduction pin complete the feature set.

Built-in current limit and thermal protections ensure safe operation under abnormal operating conditions.

The XRP6272 is offered in RoHS compliant, green/halogen free 5-pin TO-252 and 8-pin exposed pad SOIC packages.

Distribution Date Description File
07/17/2023 In 2023, MaxLinear will be converting all shipping labels for the parts noted from an EXAR format to MaxLinear’s label. During this transition customers may receive either label. This change affects only shipping and packing labels. This change will not affect the part number, part marking, manufacturing process or manufacturing sites. Only work in progress material will be converted. Existing inventory from MaxLinear’s warehouse, channel sales, distributor, and such, will not be converted. Hence, customers may experience receiving mixed shipments with both Exar and MaxLinear labels for some period until existing inventory of old labels is eventually cleared out. Situation is product to product with no predictable way to determine when all old labels will be exhausted. No change to product form, fit, function and reliability. ADDENDUM A: Fixed MBB label logo for DX204001 to MaxLinear logo. ADDENDUM B: Replaced ‘All other affected products outer box label’ with clearer pictures. Corrected Date Issued (from original PCN) issue date +90 days to August 30, 2023.

07/19/2021 To improve manufacturing efficiency, leadframe supplier has gone from 1 row to 4 row strip. For this TO-252-5L package, there are minor cosmetic differences to the package form; a) Chamfered, 45° corners to reduce stress b) Heat sink shape for sturdier mold lock c) Ejector pin mark on package bottom Otherwise, there is no impact to fit and electrical function. No change to land pattern is required to use this updated package.
08/16/2012 Material change: Bond wire is changed from gold to copper. To update our manufacturing to be compatible with current industry standards and maintain capacity.
