The MxL9101 is a high sensitivity, four-channel 28Gbps Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) array that is designed for use in Rx modules for 100Gbps Ethernet optical transmission systems. Each amplifier has 4.5kΩ of small signal differential transimpedance gain.

The quad TIA consumes a total of 0.30W using a 3.3V power supply. In addition to the low noise performance, the IC has high overload of 4mApp. Each TIA incorporates an internal DC feedback loop that automatically balances the output DC levels. Each TIA provides a photodiode bias voltage and an RSSI to monitor the average photodiode current.

  • Supports data rates up to 28Gbps
  • 4.5kΩ transimpedance gain
  • Input-referred noise density of 10pA/√Hz
  • 4mApp overload current
  • 360mVpp differential output amplitude
  • Photodiode (cathode) bias voltage
  • RSSI offset 1μA
  • Single power supply of 3.3V
  • 0.30W total power dissipation
  • Channel to channel isolation > 45dB
  • Die size of 3.167mm x 1.672mm

  • 100Gbps Ethernet LR4, CWDM4, CLR4, and PSM4
  • CFP transceivers
  • CFP2 transceivers
  • CFP4 transceivers
