The MxL8801 is part of the MxL880x (Panther III) family of storage accelerators. The MxL880x are storage accelerators that deliver the lowest latency, highest throughput data reduction, and security acceleration. Powerful data reduction technology intelligently offloads the CPU by providing multiple independent parallel data processing unit transform engines. Each full engine provides simultaneous decompression/compression, decryption/encryption, MaxHash, data protection, and real-time verification (RTV).
The MxL880x (Panther III) devices open all tiers of storage including all-flash-array and non-volatile memory express (NVMe) to its full bandwidth potential with no CPU or software limitations. The flexible compression algorithms offered in Panther III enable simple data temperature transition optimizing access latency for hot, warm, and cold data. When combined with Panther III class of service (CoS) and decode transform engines to prioritize traffic handling for provisioning, service agreements are enforced and ultra-fast access to hot data reads is provided.
Panther III’s exclusive MaxHash feature allows for programmable hash block sizes that are independent of the command data size which support programmable skips of metadata and data protection fields (NVMe-DP/T10-DIF/ DIX). Therefore, you only hash the data providing enhanced deduplication hit rates. This delivers best-in-class effective storage capacity and $/GB savings lowering capital storage cost. Never lose data to help meet six 9’s reliability with end-to-end RTV. Panther III’s built-in real time verification of all transforms assures data integrity eliminating data loss.
