The MxL2025 is a high-performance, ultra low-power four-channel 28Gbps EML driver that is designed for use in 100Gbps Ethernet fiber optic transmission system transmitter modules. The driver consumes 0.92W power typical when configured for 1.5Vp-p output swing.
Data inputs have on-chip 50Ω terminations, and can be driven single-ended or differentially. The modulator driver features crossing point control and output amplitude control. The single-ended output amplitude can be adjusted to 1.5Vp-p for Vd = 3.3V into a 50Ω load.
- Supports data rates up to 28.3Gbps
- 0.23W/CH typical power dissipation
- 12ps typical output rise/fall times
- Minimum 1.5Vp-p output amplitude for Vd = 3.3V (into a 50Ω load)
- Output crossing point control
- Modulation amplitude control
- Available in SMT package
- 100Gbps client-side transceiver module
- LR4/ER4-Lite/ER4 applications
